Laura is a mom and a co-founder of Yourticulture which is homestead based. Among all the hats she has to juggle, being a mom comes on top. Believing that the children are the future, she considers it best to model to them how she deals with life -- to learn how to overcome hardships and to be resilient. Instead of telling them, she prefers showing them her own picture of life. Being in an entrepreneurial partnership with her husband also makes both of them more sensitive to each other's needs and makes it easy to have each other's back at certain times.
Highlights:

  • Prioritization - a progressive daily milestone; doing better today than yesterday
  • Hyperfocus - after identifying your priority, it is important to be focused if you want to really accomplish something in life
  • Compartmentalize -- chunk the process into smaller steps and take it one at a time
  • Say "not yet" - for the less important things; avoid overburdened and unrealistic expectations
  • Mindset - is the only thing everyone can control; positive or negative thinking is apparently a choice

Going through life, Laura has the privilege of learning a lot of positivity and resilience from people, especially from her parents and her faith. If you somehow need to address your own limitations -- especially self-limitation and negative internal dialog, consider it a treat for yourself to start the year learning from someone who empowers everyone to think limitlessly.
