America Needs To Do Some Extra Credit Work
Manage episode 329589088 series 2916129
America would get a grade letter C for women's health and gender equality! Are you surprised? As caregivers and mothers, there are a lot of demands and often women's health gets addressed last. Women are also earning less then men making it difficult to provide a better lifestyle too. Kelly Nevis, the CEO of the Women's Fund of Rhode Island, joined me and shared that information. Kelly's organization and personal mission is to improve this grade with a focus on access to reproductive health, economic security, and civic leadership and diversity. She is doing the extra credit and encouraging others to join her! Her workshops and programs promote self-advocacy and helping women learn how to negotiate their salaries, reach higher, and much more. One of her favorite quotes is "It's not bragging if it's true!"
