This month we sit to talk with the creators of Stars in Their Eyes, a graphic novel published by Fremantle press that made it to our Notable Australian Graphic Novels of 2021 Shortlist and will be published early 2023 by Scholastic internationally.

Jessica Walton and Aśka talk about what attracts them to comics, how Stars in Their Eyes came about, and how important it was to them to get this story and its themes of disability and identity.

Jessica Walton is a picture book author, teacher, parent, daughter of a trans parent, and proud queer, disabled woman. Aśka is an award-winning graphic novelist and an ex-quantum physicist, passionate about visual literacy.
