A woman named Mary Whitehouse led a “Moral Campaign” to stop these mostly horror films from getting into the hands of children. In response, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) created a list of 72 films that could be prosecuted under the Obscene Publications Act 1959. This list became name known as the Video Nasty list. It's now must viewing for any horror geek and lovers of Italian cinema. Some of the greatest horror directors have titles on the VN list including Tobe Hooper, Dario Argento, Paul Naschy, Sam Raimi, Wes Craven and Lucio Fulci.
