On this 115th episode of the Arlington-Prospect Advice Givers Podcast. Mark Heffernan of Zingabrew, a local Arlingtons Heights brewer of ginger beer, is our guest. Mark tells the story of how Zingabrew was born out of a love for ginger beer and a need to rise to a challenge. One day while enjoying some Moscow mules with friends, he actually read the ingredients of two of the most popular canned ginger beers. To Mark’s dismay, he found they contained a little more than high fructose corn syrup and added flavoring. This prompted him to read the ingredients of the more expensive bottled options, still full with acids and gums. So a friend challenged Mark to make his own.
The rest is what he call history…
Zingabrew is sold locally in liquor stores, restaurants, and is a weekly vendor at the Arlington Heights Farmers Market. Mark’s insistence on having premium ingredients is what differentiates his product from other ginger beers on the market today. Zingabrew can be enjoyed in many different ways. It’s great by itself or it can accompany your favorite cocktail. It definitely adds a little Zinga to your life.
If you would like to order your four pack of Zingabrew or find out what restaurants and bars it’s sold in, please go to Mark’s website here.
