Recently, I hit my head on a door frame. I was heading down the hall and heard voices. I leaned past my doorway to see what was happening, then decided to continue on to my room. As I turned to go in, I swung my head too early and too quickly into the door frame instead of open space.
My injury could have been prevented: First by not allowing myself to get distracted by other people. Or second, by reorienting myself in the doorway before moving into the new space.
I need to know where I am before I move.
I also need to know where to move before I take that next step.
