I have been living with chronic pain for the past nine months.

This all started with an at-home meditation retreat that I decided to recreate after realizing that I needed some time by myself. I would force myself to lie down and to not think. I kept trying to be calm and to get in touch with myself. I felt in a way that I was lost with who I was, and I had a desire to get to know myself better. I tried to stop the thinking and tried to really go into a state of calm. At first, my jaw started to shake, and then my neck started to shake. I felt like something was going to rip in my neck area.

Instead of stopping, I continued. On the fourth day, I woke up with a tight spasm in my neck. Then a couple of months later, it spread into my right leg and right foot. This condition is painful and does not allow me to do things that I love to do. However, it has forced me to slow down and to pay attention to my body. It led me to learn new things about myself and my body that I didn’t know before.

This week, I discuss my chronic neck pain that’s been bothering me for the last 9 months. If you have a health problem and are perhaps feeling disconnected to your body, my hope is that this episode can help to explain some of your symptoms.

I would love to hear from you!
