Have you recently felt verbally attacked by your spouse? It happens, but the chances of finding a resolution are slim when we respond with defensiveness.

If you pay attention for just one day, you might discover you're feeling attacked more than a few times.

• Your co-worker asks if you're doing ok, that you don't seem yourself.

• Your adult child hasn't responded for days to a text you thought needed a response.

• Your spouse comes home from a family event sharing that they learned some things about your grandmother that reminded them of you.

Depending on your frame of reference and perspective, none of these may make you one bit defensive, but they could from a different perspective.

This week on the AwakenYou in your Marriage podcast, I will break down some barriers and help you unmask any defensiveness you might be holding against anyone, particularly your spouse.

Listen to this week's Episode 126: Breaking Down Barriers: Unmasking Defensiveness for Healthier Relationships, where I will:

  • talk about why we default to defensiveness
  • why it isn't useful
  • how to begin the process of eliminating it

Tap right here to start letting go of defensiveness and opening up to listening.
