BTP 045: Beside the Music #8 (45RPM - "Lissum to Dis")
Manage episode 202759987 series 2171807
Joe and Shawn dig into Joe's collection of 45's (the record, not the bullet) and discuss all types of genres and fun songs contained therein.
A 2-hour "Vinyl-thon" ensues, and we are joined by John on the "B-side" to discuss news of the week as well as dig down deep for some auditory fun. Fans of vinyl and music in general will see more exploration of this format out of us in the future.
Some people celebrate 25 or 50th anniversaries, but not us. We're fans of music, especially vinyl, and celebrate our love affair with song, in the format originally intended for "artists who sell to the youngest purchasers of music (younger teenagers and pre-teens), who tend to have more limited financial resources." [wikipedia.com Article: "Single (music)"]
THE 45 RPM VINYL record has been a staple for many years, with new music STILL being presented in the format as well as the continued popularity of single-play formats (like jukeboxes) around the world. Though singles and on-demand music machines are now mainly consumed in digital format, you can still find plenty of vinyl records lying around.
