Zacca and Matt are joined by Run2PB coach Chris Armstrong, to have an in depth discussion around the memorable moments that were produced during some of the Track and Road races at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Straight from the highlights reel, they discuss everything from the incredible performances by the Australian marathoners, all the way down to Peter Bol inspiring a nation.
They also discuss where to from here for athletics and how do we capitalise on such an amazing spectacle when looking at the future.
Zacca also details how his weeks training has gone, stepping up to the old trusty 8 x 1km, along with a solid 30min Tempo. Matt goes through his down week, reducing some volume and intensity as he gears up for Albert Park 10km or 10km TT. Knocking out one of his best 20min fartleks and kicks the gears down after a 5km tempo with 6 x 30sec on/off reps. Chris shares how his consistency has been superb and hopefully gets a chance to have a race soon. Chris works on some great strength with a hilly set of Botanical Loops, then nails his own 8 x 1km session.
Zacca, Chris and Matt then answer a listener question, asking for tips on how to become more mentally tough during races.
