Beyond Deconstructing Episode 1.12 - Doug Blecher (Autism Personal Coach)
Manage episode 363921439 series 3477883
Welcome to Episode 1.12 of Beyond Deconstructing. I’m T Jamaica Pogue, affectionately known as Deconstructing Neuro, and I’m on a journey to help reframe how we understand and treat neurodivergence - in particular autism.
Now, anyone who knows me (or knows anything about AuDHD folks) you won’t be surprised to know that I wasn’t able to keep up with the posting schedule as perfectly as I wanted to and subsequently pushing back a release a day or two turned into it being 2 months since I’ve posted a new video. I’ve had a ton of major life changes that happened over the last 3 months that kinda beat out my neurospicy brain when it comes to blame for falling off track. However, through all of the hott mess and dumbfuckery, I’m incredibly happy and excited for what’s to come.
In this episode I had the privilege of chatting with Doug Blecher, founder of Autism Personal Coach and host of Autism Stories, a podcast that has been an incredible showcase for just how varied people on the autism spectrum are. In addition to Autism Stories, Doug also hosts a podcast that celebrates autistic joy by allowing autists space to info dump and share their excitement over their passions. He also co-hosts Intersections on the Spectrum with Kelly Bron Johnson. Learn more about Doug and his projects at the links below. Make sure you follow him @autismpersonalcoach on Instagram.

Deconstructing Neurodivergence is a series that will dismantle the harmful stereotypes and assumptions about neurodivergent people - in particular autistic and ADHDers - and the many negative effects that hinder us from receiving a proper diagnosis and adequate accommodations to live a life where we can thrive instead of fighting to survive.
