In January 2023, the popular eye drop solution, EzriCare Artificial Tears, was discovered to contain a dangerous pathogen, leaving unsuspecting users at risk of serious eye infections that could lead to permanent eye damage or blindness. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration issued a nationwide recall, and the contaminated eye drops have been linked to at least 55 reports of adverse events, including eye infections, permanent loss of vision, and death from a bloodstream infection. In this podcast, we discuss the dangers of the contaminated eye drops, the symptoms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa eye infections, and how to seek medical attention. We also explore the legal process and your options for seeking compensation, including the eligibility to file a lawsuit. Although the Hastings Law Firm is mentioned as one option for legal guidance, we also discuss other resources available for those affected by this crisis.
