Since I’ve become a more seasoned traveler in the world of online media, the algorithms have picked up on my attraction to a unique sort of intellectual, I like academic types with a wit and a certain sensitivity to the rollercoaster “the world” seems to have involuntarily strapped us all onto over the past few years… and that is how I first came across my guest today, Neal Foard, storyteller extraordinaire. Neal prides himself on noticing things that are, as he says, “kind of amazing about being alive.” This way of life lights me up and I find myself on a similar path, which is why I cannot wait to get inside his brain today. I love the way Neal uses language. He makes me want to write. Maybe it’s the professor in me. His choice of words and his way of seeing things helps people grow new eyes and ears as they interact with his colorful descriptions and compelling retellings. He can make a chance conversation in line at the supermarket into a meaningful metaphor, the kind that causes you to walk through life differently, yearning to have these kinds of experiences yourself.
