In this episode Abby brings a graphic novel called Open Earth to the table, and with it, a chance to rant semi-coherently about non-monogamy. Is polyamory a radical sex uptopia or really a lot of talking and shared calendars?

We’re talking hierarchies and anarchy, jealousy and boundaries, while asking some big questions like, if you left Earth (fair enough it’s a shit show), how would you reshape society’s rules around relationships? Would platonic be just as important as romantic? Would you be monogamous if it wasn’t the norm?! And would you have a threesome while also eating a hamburger?

References for nerdy sluts:

  • Abby references Understanding Non-Monogamies, edited by Meg Barker and Darren Langrdridge. Routledge: London New York (2010). In particular Chapter 25: What’s queer about non-monogamy now? By Eleanor Wilkinson
  • For those looking for a great place to start to explore non-monogamy, check out The Ethical Slut: A Guide to Infinite Sexual Possibilities by Dossie Easton and Janet Hardy
