  1. Know your goal: Where are you trying to go with your time?
    • It doesn't need to be a "SMART" goal, just something that you aim your time at
    • This goal could also be a mission statement instead of a specific goal
    • Consider this question: why do you want to grow in time management to begin with?
  2. Prioritize your activities according to what is most important (your goal)
    • A basic fact of life: Everyone has 24 hours in a day
    • Navigating the difference between the urgent and important: Quadrant Grid
    • Goals (principle #1) give us the direction to what is actually important
  3. The Time You Use to Plan is a Valuable Investment
    • Like the stock market, you invest time to create the map to accomplish the most important things
    • Schedule your meetings and project time
    • Identify your daily big 3
  4. Exercise "Integrity in the moment of choices"
    • Choosing what's most important when urgent tasks present themselves: Ask "What's most important right now?"
  5. Measure and Evaluate Your Results
    • Look at the end of each week where your time is going and make resolutions
