Mohamed “Mo” ElShenawy is a Vice President of Engineering at Cruise–the San Francisco-based self-driving tech company. With more than 20 years of software engineering and leadership experience, Mo leads the largest department at Cruise. Mo’s teams, comprised of over 750 engineers, are responsible for our AV Development, Product and Mapping Engineering, Data and Machine Learning Platforms, On-Premise and Cloud Infrastructure, Engineering Productivity, PaaS, and other functions, working in harmony to massively accelerate our rate of progress. Prior to Cruise, Mo led global technologies for Amazon ReCommerce Platform, Warehouse Deals, and Liquidations: a massive scale global business that enables Amazon to evaluate, price, sell, liquidate, and donate millions of used products daily. Prior to that, Mo led all engineering for SCH Business Solutions to deliver enterprise, customer-centric solutions to many Fortune 100 companies. In addition, over the past decade, Mo was a technical co-founder and CTO for three tech startups, the latest of which is a cloud-based financial services development platform used by top financial institutions.
