×Fáilte ar ais chuig eagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo ar an 17ú lá de mí an Mheithimh, liomsa Lauren Ní Loingsigh. I 1977 níor rinne mórán daoine óga vótáil sa toghchán, agus fuair siad amach é sin nuair a dhún siad na bhothán vótála sa tír an oíche roimhe. I 2005 tháinig sé amach nach raibh Éire chun reifreann a bheith acu ar an bhunreacht nua go dtí 2006. I 1977 bhí lucht tacaíochta óna bpáirtí amach ag iarradh daoine chun vótáil timpeall an chontae. I 2005 thit an méid ciontú sa chontae 5 úire níos mó ná an céatadán de na gabhadh a tharla I rith trí bhliain. Sin Kenny Rogers le Lucille – an t-amhrán is mó ar an lá seo I 1977. Ag lean ar aghaidh le nuacht cheoil ar an lá seo I 1997 bhí círéib ag Ozzfest in Ohio tar éis a tháinig sé amach nach raibh Ozzy Ozbourne chun canadh ann de bharr go raibh fadhb lena scornach. Bhí fearg ar an lucht leanúna agus mar sin de bhris siad fuinneoga, tharraing siad crann amach as an talamh agus chas siad carr bunoscionn. I 2006 fuair Shakira a chéad uimhir a haon I Meiriceá lena hamhrán Hips Don't Lie. Bhí sé an t-amhrán a raibh daoine ag éisteacht leis den chuid is mó nuair a tháinig sé amach agus sheinm sé nach mór 10 míle uair ar raidió I Meiriceá. Bhí rath mór ar an amhrán timpeall an domhain agus shroich sí uimhir a haon I 17 tír. Agus ar deireadh breithlá daoine cáiliúla ar an lá seo rugadh amhránaí Kendrick Lamar I Meiriceá I 1987 agus rugadh amhránaí Barry Manilow I Meiriceá ar an lá seo I 1943 agus seo chuid de amhrán. Beidh mé ar ais libh amárach le heagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo. Welcome back to another edition of Ar An Lá Seo on the 17th of June, with me Lauren Ní Loingsigh 1977: the voice of youth had not been heard to any marked extent when the voting closed at polling booths across the country last night. 2005: Irelland wasnt to hold a referendum on the new EU constitution until well after the 2006 ratification deadline. 1977: supporters of main parties were out on force on thursday bringing people to polling booths all over the county. 2005: the number of convictions for crime in clare fell by almost 5 times the percentage drop in the total number of arrests over a 3 year period. That was Kenny Rogers with Lucille – the biggest song on this day in 1977 Onto music news on this day In 1997 Fans rioted at an Ozzfest concert in Columbus Ohio, after Ozzy Osbourne couldn't perform due to throat problems. Angry fans broke windows, uprooted trees, and turned over a parked car 2006 Shakira scored her first No.1 hit in the US with her single 'Hips Don't Lie,' featuring Wyclef Jean. It also broke the record for the most-played pop song in a single week when it was aired on American radio a total of 9,637 times. The song became a global success, reaching No.1 in seventeen countries. And finally celebrity birthdays on this day – rapper Kendrick Lamar was born in America in 1987 and singer Barry Manilow was born in America on this day in 1943 and this is one of his songs.
