The Shannon Airport Group is assuring there will be no service disruptions at the Clare base today, despite its continuing efforts to accommodate flights due to land at London-Heathrow. Heathrow has been closed for the day following a fire at a nearby electrical station, which sparked a major power outage. Shannon Airport has already handled flights from Toronto, Atlanta, Barbados, Boston, Orlando and New York, and is expecting to facilitate more diversions throughout the day. Shannon Airport Group CEO Mary Considine has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that all passengers due to travel to Heathrow today should contact their carrier as soon as possible.

Clare is set to benefit from the addition of a new full-time dog warden. Annette Kenny, who came on board as a seasonal warden last year, will now be operating from the March to November period and taking on patrols, licence checks the enforcement of park bye-laws. In turn, the local authority will be taking on a new warden for the summer season, who will operate from May until September, enforcing beach bye-laws. Speaking on Clare FM's Morning Focus, Clare County Dog Warden Frankie Coote says it will free up more resources to deal with dangerous dogs.…

The latest quarterly report from Daft.ie shows that the average price of a new home in Clare has risen by 10% in the last year and by 4% since the end of 2024 to just over €269,000. Central to this is the increase in "market heat", which is a phenomenon where the selling price of a home is greater than the initial listing price, with that rate currently 7.1% across Munster. Economist at Trinity College Dublin and author of the Daft.ie report, Ronan Lyons has been telling Clare FM's Darragh O'Grady the Government needs to make more second hand homes available, but admits there is no quick fix to achieving this.…
