Year: 1972
Condition: M-
Price: $15.00
Was there ever a more perfect power pop single? Oh, I suppose so, but this one sure helps define the genre framed by the Beatles and other Brit-Poppers. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Apple Records factory sleeve (has some ring wear). The labels and audio grade pristine Mint, and the vinyl has a some marks from storage. ×Label: Int'l Artists 128 Year: 1969 Condition: M Price: $30.00 Here's an unusually clean copy of this essential Garage/Psych hit. The flip is another argument for ALWAYS checking out B sides... this single is an amazing value in one small package! Note: This beautiful copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: MGM 13813 dj Year: 1967 Condition: M- Price: $16.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed promo copy, in its original factory sleeve. Sunshine Pop lovers of the world unite! Here's a Greenaway-Cook rarity that will keep your toe tappin' and your mouth smilin'. This was the group's last single on Co & Ce, and unfortunately never made it onto Top 40 playlists. When MGM picked up the Co & Ce catalog, they released this one Vogues single. It would be a year and a half before the group re-emerged on Warner Bros.' Reprise label to score a couple of hits in 1968-69. Note: This copy comes in a vintage MGM Records factory sleeve.…
Label: Laurie 3464 Year: 1968 Condition: M Price: $14.00 In case you were wondering, it's the B side of this Folk classic that got Dave Marsh's attention at #452 on his list of the 1,001 greatest singles ever made. Just a warning if you're not familiar with it: "Daddy Rollin'" ain't your Mother's Dion! (We use this side to assign the 45 to a genre, although clearly "Abraham" isn't "Hard Rock/Metal" :-) Released only as the B side (not available on the album) to a familiar and comforting anthem, in "Daddy Rollin," as Marsh says: Haunted electric guitars clang and clash against one another, drums pound in from another room, uniting in a wad of noise symbolizing nothing but spelling out pain and fear... It was the scariest music Dion ever made... Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Laurie Records factory sleeve. It has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Mustang 3016 Year: 1966 Condition: M- Price: $22.00 What a terrific single... not only do you get an amazing cover of a great Buddy Holly classic, but the self-penned flip is what Power Pop dreams are made of! This was a non-album single. Note: This beautiful 45 has Near Mint labels. The vinyl also looks Near Mint, and the powerful audio sounds almost pristine! (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: RCA 7783 Year: 1960 Condition: M- Last Price: $45.00. Not currently available for sale. Here's a beautiful copy of this early Sam Cooke classic... one of the nicest I've had in the store since opening in 2001! Have a listen to the mp3 "snippet" to recall what a great tune this is. It comes in a Near Mint copy of the release's cool picture sleeve. Note: The 45 itself grades Mint in appearance (Labels, Vinyl), and the audio plays very close to Mint.…
Label: Atlantic 2682 Year: 1969 Condition: M Last Price: $8.00. Not currently available for sale. From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy with a drillhole, in its original factory sleeve.
Label: EMI 8132 Year: 1982 Condition: M Last Price: $10.00. Not currently available for sale. The B side is a previously unreleased, non-LP cut. This Dave Edmunds-produced track was the U.S. Rockabilly group's first hit, a big part of the early 1980s Rockabilly revival. (The group's first single, "Stray Cat Strut," didn't become a hit until re-released after "Rock This Town" proved the band's chart-worthiness.) Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage EMI America Records factory sleeve. It has Mint labels and pristine sound.…
Label: Atco 6588 Year: 1968 Condition: M Price: $15.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy with a drillhole, in its original factory sleeve. Both sides are terrific, rare slices of late 1960's soul. I particularly like the Deep Soul B side...
Label: Ric-Tic 103 Year: 1965 Condition: M Price: $32.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. Here's a beautiful copy of the rarer yellow Ric-Tic label with black type. The flip side is an instrumental version. Like all of Starr's Ric-Tic recordings, this was a non-album single. Note: This 45 record has light storage wear, but it retains pristine Mint sound.…
Label: Parkway 6000 Year: 1967 Condition: M Price: $18.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy with a drillhole, in its original Cameo/Parkway factory sleeve. If Sigler's turbocharged medleys from 1967 aren't to your taste, you may have missed out on the terrific flip side to this single. If so, be sure to check it out!!…
Label: Capitol 3546 Year: 1973 Condition: M Price: $18.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy in its original picture sleeve. This is one of only two Raspberries singles that Capitol decorated with a picture sleeve... the other being their first chart single, which failed pretty miserably (peak: #86). The cool thing about the "Let's Pretend" sleeve, though, isn't the great band-member photos on the back, it's the rather incredible promotion taking place on the front! You can't read the small print in the accompanying scan, but basically, this was a contest to win a Raspberries "Rollswagen"--a Volkswagen Beetle decked out to look like a Rolls! There are oodles of time-capsule-worthy notes on the front, but my favorites are the following two "Far-Out Features": Quadrasonic 8-Track Stereo System! Outasight sound with 4 speakers by Car Tapes, Inc., of California A Complete Library of 100 Capitol 8-Track Cartridges! Includes Beatles! Helen Reddy! Rick Springfield! Leon Russell! Many more favorites! By the way, this single is specially edited from a longer (3:42) album track. Note: The 45 is pristine Mint in all respects.…
Label: Columbia 06257 Year: 1986 Condition: M Last Price: $9.00. Not currently available for sale. This was the group's biggest hit, and one listen will explain why! The audio -- and the music! -- is so amazing I had to capture it for an mp3 "snippet"... Have a listen! Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Columbia Records factory sleeve. It has pristine Mint sound.…
Label: Sire 28591 Year: 1986 Condition: M Last Price: $18.00. Not currently available for sale. Dave Marsh was right to give this great Madonna hit such a high ranking in his list of the 1001 greatest singles every made... it's a perfect pop confection and a gorgeous blend of 1980's dance rock and 1960's girl group rock. This is a like-new copy of the limited edition pressing on clear blue vinyl. The nearly flawless picture sleeve is also distinguished from retail copies by having "Limited Edition Blue Vinyl Pressing" printed on the left-hand side of the front cover (see scan).…
Label: Dunwich 122 Year: 1966 Condition: M- Last Price: $22.00. Not currently available for sale. The B side of this single is even better than the A side... great, dirty Garage Rock (it's the B side that earns two stars from us). Take a listen! Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Atlantic/Atco Records factory sleeve. Its labels grade Mint in appearance. The vinyl and audio grade very close to Mint. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Lenox 5555 Year: 1962 Condition: M- Price: $22.00 One of my personal all-time favorites: When "Little Esther" Phillips starts singing, I literally get goosebumps — the recording's that powerful! And what a voice! Note: This copy has nearly pristine-looking labels and Near Mint vinyl. The audio is close to Mint, with just a touch of surface noise.…
