The CB Duo comes to you high off binging Never Have I Ever, Indian Matchmaking, and Wedding Season THREE top 10 Netflix hits with a South Asian emphasis! Yes, we said THREE.

Divya and Ravisha are thrilled to discuss how far media has come with representation since the time they were younger. They reflect on how the lack of representation of actresses and leads who looked like them influenced their self-esteem and confidence in school, friendships, and in relationships.

They reflect on how the media representation of South Asians even 5 years ago was of 'stereotypical' nerds, cab drivers, and owning convenient stores. Though they saw desi representation on media, they never felt connected to it until recently (cue Queen Mindy!)

This episode covers...

  • How representation impacts mental health
  • How their self-esteem has grown through the years as they have been more represented on media
  • What brought them together despite lack of media representation
  • How they believe that change will continue to come
