My guest Amanda Currie is a very talented and creative person, a music teacher and a musician in the Tinderbox Orchestra project. I invited her to this conversation because I wanted to learn what it means and how it feels to be neurodivergent, how it differs from living with mental health challenges and find out about her experience exploring life with an official ADHD diagnosis.
In this light-hearted episode we laugh a lot and focus on what Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD means for adults and how it can manifest in our lives. While one of the most researched and one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders, ADHD has a lot of stigma and assumptions surrounding it, mainly still tagging it as the unsettled children’s issue. Amanda shares the challenges she experienced on her way to getting an official ADHD diagnosis, why it can often be so complicated for an adult to get there and what benefits it can bring when you finally do. She also shares her ADHD hints and tips of how to better support yourself and anyone else around you living with it.
