In this week's episode I speak to Lisa Anne O'Donnell a therapeutic radiographer from Scotland. Lisa has her own struggles with chronic illness which led her to discover more about the benefits of exercise.
She now works with cancer patients to help them understand the benefits of exercise throughout their journey with cancer and she shares with us some of her recommendations for exercising with cancer.
About Lisa
Lisa Anne O’Donnell is a Therapeutic Radiographer at the Beatson West Of Scotland Cancer Centre and Lecturer in Radiotherapy and Oncology at Glasgow Caledonian University. She holds a BSc Hons Radiation Oncology Science 2004, CanRehab Course 2021 and is currently carrying out her dissertation for her MSc in Advancing Practice at The University of Stirling.

Her own struggles with chronic illness and pain led her to explore exercise within her life. The physical and mental benefits caused her to look at how she could apply this to her patients' lives. She discovered CanRehab and their training course and recognised the importance of movement for people with cancer. Lisa Anne now integrates it into discussions with patients on a daily basis and helps to educate other staff and students on the benefits to those living with a cancer diagnosis.

She was lucky enough to become involved with the 5KYW from Move charity to set up their first ever group in Scotland. This encourages those living with or beyond, a cancer diagnosis to join with Parkrun on the last Saturday of every month to walk, run or volunteer.
