Olivia Hudson is an international Speaker and Life Coach. In this episode, I discuss Olivia's book "Caring For the Child Within: My Journey of Emotional Healing".
Here are some of my takeaways:
1) Sharing your story is an act of love. Our stories are not just meant for us alone. They hold valuable lessons and can enhance healing.
2) Going through your own healing journey helps others to see their own need for healing as well.
3) Writing our own story is helpful to understand ourselves better and gain clarity about the various circumstances of our lives.
4) The challenging/traumatic memories of our past tend to overshadow the beautiful memories that we have, which is not helpful for healing. Unless we experience healing and become aware of our triggers, we keep seeing the present with the lens of the past. 5) Just like Olivia's husband, offering space, empathy, and compassion while a spouse or a friend is going through healing can bring an enormous amount of support.
6) We all make mistakes. It is important to keep loving and apologizing a lot. We are not perfect.
7) Healing can stop the cycles of abuse in our past.
What would you tell your inner child today?
8) You can be all you were created to be. Recognizing that you need healing is the very first step toward healing.
