This isn't your typical episode of Decomposition. This episode is more of a love letter to the band REM. Natty Bumpercar grew up in Macon, Georgia. He went to school at UGA in Athens. Thus, REM is a very important band to him. He has been able to rub elbows with the likes of Stipe, Buck, Mills and Berry on numerous occasions and Michael Stipe himself even doled out the nicest complement Natty has ever gotten.
But fear not, we still have a ton of fun along the way. With discussions about mythology, geography, religion, and Reagan-era politics. Natty tells us about the worst thing he has ever done, which also ties into his first concert experience.
This song is a politically charged, stream-of-consciousness, romp that still makes us sing along 32 years later.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jellybean...boom
