Welcome back for another episode of Dropset Gorgeous Radio! Last time when I brought on Deni, it was such a successful episode and I got a ton of good feedback from you, so much so that I decided to bring him on again for another episode. I think he’d be able to provide a ton of value and a good, contrasting insight into what it’s like dating somebody who’s competing and how you balance having a relationship while prepping for a show.

  • Deni’s experiences in dealing with someone who’s in prep.
  • Honest perspective about on-diet vs. non-diet, cut vs. bulk.
  • Accommodating schedules to make time together more meaningful.
  • Dedication to NPC lifestyle is no different than dedication to other lifestyles.
  • Both people in the relationship must have individual goals.
  • Keep an open mind and be supportive.
  • Be aware sex drive will be impacted by prep/competition.
  • Have fun on show day!

As Deni talks with me today, he gives a clear perspective on how to balance personal relationships in the world of NPC competition. My episode with Deni covers what you should expect when your partner is prepping for a show, ways to manage your schedules when they don’t match up, tips for creating a supportive, healthy relationship, and how to best show up on show day. This episode shares really useful information to help create a balance between your love life and your passion!

Powerful Quotes to Remember:

  • Think about breaking points. If the relationship is based on always spending time together, pursue something for yourself. Both individuals need their own personal goals.
  • Remember it is your choice whether or not to compete; don’t guilt your partner for their actions while you’re prepping and they aren’t.
  • Be willing to embrace your partner’s choice to compete. Be happy, supportive, and understanding.
  • Understand both people’s perspective and keep an open mind. Your relationship is a two-way street, and it takes compromise from both people.
