Luke Jackson captained the 2012 Australian Olympic Boxing team, the 2010 Commonwealth Games Boxing team, won more than 100 fights as an amateur boxer and went 20-2 in his professional boxing career. Luke won over 6 Australian titles in his career and has coached many fighters to success in the ring. Outside of his career in boxing, Luke is a mental health advocate and an active spokesperson for Warrior’s Advocacy, supporting victims of institutionalized abuse.

Most importantly, Luke is an incredibly kind and passionate human being who has struggled with his mental health and is incredibly open and vulnerable with us, speaking to some of his darkest times in today’s episode. If you or anyone you know are struggling with their mental health or with addiction, there are various organizations here in Australia to support you (links below).

Today’s discussion with Luke was incredibly powerful and eye opening, as he opens up about:

  • How boxing was his one constant in a chaotic childhood and teenage environment
  • The harsh realities of trying to make a career as a professional boxer
  • Beating drug addiction through dedication to his training and his desire for a better life
