Finding disagreements among brethren is easy, having disputes while maintaining the brotherly love we are called to, is a little more challenging. This episode gives practical examples and tools to help you navigate disagreements with others in an effort to find resolution...not division.
Here is a rundown of the tips provided:
- Show care for the relationship
- Find common ground
- Give compliments from the heart
- Try to start and end with compliments
- Assume positive intent
- Count others as more significant
- Show gratitude throughout
- Request consideration of another view
- End the conversation positive and wish them well
- Ask to continue the conversation at another time
- Remove sarcasm from comments
- Consider deleting unkind and unprofitable comments
