DUN DUN DUN! Its Swade's birthday week so obviously, we talk about babies and their baptism....wait. (00:03:12) Next, Swade and Walter get into a give their haircut takes as both of them have slightly different preferences in how they like to deal with their hair. Not surprising, both of them have slightly non-conforming desires for haircuts. (00:19:11) Walter brings Mati Diop's "Atlantics" to the podcast but first he has to gush over how much he loves Mati Diop in Claire Denis' 35 Shots of Rum (00:24:07) Swade and Walter consider the ocean's sublimity and the tools humans use to experience their relationship with the ocean. Walter wonders why Hong Kong does not share the same spiritual respect towards the ocean as a lot of other countries that are bordered with sea. (00:40:20) A new guest, Trailer Man Terrance joined the podcast to talk about the new trailer for the new A24 film "Men" directed by Alex Garland. (00:46:14) Swade promised he'd bring the new batman film with Robert Pattinson but decides that the film is actually a little more complicated so he wants to talk about the film on a later episode. Unfortunately for Walter, Swade wants a Batman episode which means Walter is being dragged into the batman universe against his will. The Batman. (00:49:11) Instead, Swade shares his thoughts on "Yellow Submarine", the animated musical that uses The Beatles songs. Swade explores the push and pull between the film's animation style and humor and also explores how the film works as a musical. Of course, The Beatles becomes a conversation. (01:12:08) We got some fun comments to talk about to end the podcast though we may have talked a little too much about the Japanese anime/manga "Bleach".
