The Film Role guys are back with our first ever debate episode! And what better way to kick it off than with the age-old question: De Niro or Pacino?

We were joined by a very special guest, Mr. Jim Land, who has led an accomplished career reviewing films for The Irish Times and has had the chance to interview many red carpet dwellers, including Alfred Molina!

The news headlines we covered today were:

Jeff Goldblum Joins 'Jurassic World' Sequel.

Oh boy, did we miss Dr. Ian Malcolm's foreboding sermon on Chaos Theory and ridiculous chest hair in from the film that started it all, Jurassic Park. It'll be good to see him re-inhabiting the role that seared him into our hearts, at least once more!

M. Night Shyamalan Confirms Sequel for 'Unbreakable' and 'Split'.

Mr. Shyamalan has definitely found himself riding the uptick of his recent critical renaissance (The Visit, Split) and has confirmed the next entry in the 'Shyamalan-Extended-Universe', "Glass", the direct sequel to 'Unbreakable' and 'Split'. Did we ever think we'd be covering a Shyamalan-Extended-Universe on this podcast? No. We never thought we would. But here's to hoping he continues his current streak of riveting, thought provoking and nail biting ventures!

And now, our beloved Shower Thoughts, from Reddit's own r/ShowerThoughts:

"People born in 1999 turns 18 this year. 90s kids aren't kids anymore." - u/PM_me_a_bad_pun

This is weird. Most of the contributors to the podcast are 90s kids- er, I mean 90s adults? 90s grown ups? Meh.

"CPR is really you trying to beat the death out of someone." - u/PsylentProtagonist

Astute observation, good sir. And a very metal one at that.

Now, we'd like to preface this episode by stating that we are all fans of De Niro and Pacino's respective bodies of work and had a very difficult time sticking with either side, but we did our best anyway. What you can expect is what you've come to expect from The Film Role Podcast, so join us for the ride as we delve head first into this unchartered territory, for us, and stick around to watch us master it... One day.

We've also had the pleasure of introducing our very first giveaway contest!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 comes out this Friday and we want to bring a little Groot to your life. We will be giving away the Walmart exclusive 'Baby Groot'.
