Join me for episode 40 where we talk with my client, Helen Scharber, about her experience with MAP sessions, a method of advanced neural retraining, for her chronic pain from an autoimmune condition known as Ankylosing Spondylitis and food sensitivities. Hear about what it is like to be in a MAP session, the benefits she received from a set of 6 sessions and why she would recommend the method to others. In this episode we discuss: - Helen’s health journey, which has included 20 years of chronic pain from an autoimmune rheumatic condition known as Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). - How her food sensitivities made her AS symptoms worse and methods she had tried to resolve them. - Why she decided to try working with her subconscious mind to resolve food sensitivities. - Other basic neural retraining methods (EMDR, tapping) and how they compare to MAP. - How she found the MAP Method, and why she decided to work with me. - Description of the MAP Method and the role of the practitioner. - How your subconscious mind reveals its programming through MAP sessions. - Why Helen describes MAP sessions as “easy and relaxing” and also “simple yet profound.” - How, after a few months, Helen’s chronic pain subsided and most of her food sensitivities have resolved. - The waxing and waning of physical symptoms through the MAP process and why she found it “comforting.” - We discuss Dr. John Sarno’s work and the mind-body connection. - Her informal ROI calculation of costs vs. benefits of MAP sessions. Don’t miss episode 33 where we discuss the MAP Method for complex chronic conditions with Functional Medicine specialist, Cathy Moore.
