Welcome back for another episode of the Future Template Parent Podcast! This week, I'm getting messy and personal. I discuss my struggles with commitment to showing up for my work and family despite feeling unwell. We dive deep into the struggles of balancing multiple roles as a small business owner, podcaster, business coach, and mother of three, including one with PDA profile autism.

This week’s episode is filled with examples of why making commitments can be challenging, especially as someone who has a lot on their plate! On this podcast, I pride myself on showing up as authentically as possible, which may appear “messy” - as it does this week - but goes to show that as a therapist- I am human too.
The main topic this week was meant to be part two of interweaves, and we get to that a bit - but you'll hear this week how the commitment of posting a weekly podcast can alter the agenda. So, buckle up as we shift gears and talk about a more personal side of being a business owner, parent, and podcaster as I go a bit off script and talk about issues as wide-ranging as perimenopause, the genocide in Gaza, vicarious trauma, and my personal life.

Topics covered:

  • Balancing roles as a mom, therapist, and business owner during the holiday season
  • Perimenopause, family life, and political issues
  • Interweaves and being messy
  • Using somatic interviews in EMDR therapy
  • Using resources in therapy sessions
  • Resourcing and imposter syndrome in EMDR therapy
