Over summer, we’re revisiting some of our favourite GET REAL episodes of 2021.
We know from speaking with people for this podcast that seeking help for mental health and finding support is not easy. Whether it’s overcoming personal feelings or negative stereotypes about mental health or actually finding services when and where you need them – it can be a confusing and overwhelming experience.

Writer Ruth Clare is passionate about normalising talking about, and seeking help for mental health. Ruth has lived experience with childhood trauma, as detailed in her memoir Enemy and she educates and advocates for children experiencing violence in their homes to get the specific help they need. The kind of help she needed while growing up, but was never identified or offered.
