Strong can be defined as difficult to break, destroy, or make sick, or able to support a heavy weight or force. Many people were taught they had to be strong from a young age, but it’s not humanly possible to be this way all the time. Real life events happen and it hurts us and we need help to get through it. I attended a ZOOM meeting “Educating Suicide With Lived Experiences” with panelists from Guam and Texas. The Social Progress Podcast host Chelsey Cruz will repost the meeting on her Instagram @guam.social.progressor What I learned from their personal sharing is how much expectation is imposed upon men to be strong. 💔 Between these three panelists four male loved ones died. My hope today is that you know it’s okay to not be okay and that you have nothing to prove to others. It’s ok to ask for help. We may have not been taught growing up to seek help when we feel overwhelmed by life, but we can get assistance. You will always be valuable.
