This week, we will be discussing diabetes with Bernie Warren, who deals with both diabetes and sight loss on a daily basis. This will be a three-part series where we will explore how she manages her condition and how she supports others who are also affected by diabetes. If you’re seeking to expand your knowledge of diabetes, this is a great opportunity to begin.

About Berni

I am an expert patient with a huge interest in diabetes and technology. I am partially sighted and use many forms of technology to help me manage my diabetes. I enjoy public speaking and have had the opportunity to help HCPs, students in ophthalmology and diabetology as well as charities learn about the impact of diabetes and sight loss.

I have had opportunities to speak at Universities (City and Oxford) as well as within Westminster about my experiences. I am particularly interested in helping companies make their products more accessible to those with sight loss.

I have a passion to be an advocate for those who have sight loss and diabetes and am striving to help them live in a world where their needs are included too.

I also pay it forward as much as I can, whether that is sharing knowledge or helping others in a practical way such as learning Braille.
