Matt Groening mocked the present with The Simpsons, ridiculed the future with Futurama, and now is back to lambast the past with Disenchantment. This Netflix exclusive animation tells the story of debauched princess Bean, her own personal demon Luci, and misery-loving elf Elfo, in a series that pokes fun at the dark ages and the fairy tales it inspired. However, Disenchantment proves a lost opportunity when it comes to parodying the medieval period and its ideas, and the stilted jokes and characterisation leaves the series wanting. Featuring the voices of Abbi Jacobson, Eric Andre, Nat Faxon and John DiMaggio.
