For part three in our series exploring symbolism and iconography in the natural world, we are discussing animals. Symbolism and iconography has been used for centuries to help people to connect with ideas and concepts that are often hard to describe in words. Many of us connect to animals as symbols of strength and wisdom. They are sources of companionship, inspiration, and wonder.

We cover:

-The connection of humans with the natural world

-How cats represent the connection between the wild and domestic

-Turtles and tortoises representing wisdom, longevity, and endurance

-Elephants as symbols of protection, majesty, power, and wisdom

-Dragons in feng shui dragons as symbols of success, strength, and compassion

-Bats as a symbol of good luck
