After hearing the dreaded "C" word, Soraya literally said "OK The Gloves Are On"
They say adversity can cause some people to break and some people to break records!
This story is record-breaking. Starting a charity to raise awareness of early detection, for young people is a new phenomenon in Wale's but clearly, one that should be on the school curriculum. Not only do the "Gloves Are On", raise the importance and life-saving education around early detection of cancer and the gene's associated with it, but it also facilitates training, mentoring and job opportunities.
Soraya believes in collaborative working and is a real team player, sharing her work with others with a passion for changing communities and encouraging the next generation.
Not only is she a star community organiser, but in 2020 she was also recognised as "Hello" Magazines, STAR MOTHER! and won an award for being just that!
