Do you have a difficult relationship with alcohol?
Are you using alcohol as a coping mechanism to deal with your life?
Are you concerned that someone you care about may have a problem with alcohol?
In the latest episode of ' I Have Issues,' I discuss the issue of alcohol.
People who have an issue with alcohol can struggle with managing the impact of that in their life.
Friends and family of the person with a problem with alcohol will also struggle to deal with the impact of the person's drinking.
In this episode, I'm joined by esteemed Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr William Shanahan. Dr Shanahan is the Medical Director at The Priory Hospital Roehampton, London and Clinical Director across Priory Group’s Addiction Services in the UK. He began his UK medical career as a registrar in the Priory Roehampton in 1987. He is an expert in this area and offers invaluable insights into the issue of alcohol.
We discuss why people may develop an issue with alcohol, what alcohol does to the body and brain and how to treat the issue of alcohol.
