Film gear. What a love-hate relationship we have with that term. When it comes to buying the gear we need to make our art, it sometimes feels like we have to maneuver through a sea of snake oil just to find affordable, dependable equipment. Meeting someone who is genuinely interested in providing artists with the tools they need without exploiting them is almost impossible. One of those people, luckily, is our guest this week: Ted Sim. Ted is the President & CBO of Aputure and the host of Indy Mogul. Ted shares Host Mike Pecci’s belief that the best way to learn is to share your knowledge with no BS or gotcha’s. This week, we talk about the chaos that is the world of film gear, focusing on your art, and our intern, Liam, asks Ted about his opinion on one of the most discussed topics in film.
