Were you a fan of the late, great comedian Jackie Mason? Then you won’t want to miss The Jackie Mason Musical coming to Toronto, Prosserman JCC, Leah Poslun’s Theatre, Saturday, April 13th & Sunday, April 14th, 7pm both nights, plus a 2pm matinee on Saturday, April 13th.
Written and scored by playwright/songwriter/actress Ginger Reiter, the show, hosted by Kol Tov Productions/Jewish Comedy Festival, is based on true events and stars Sheba Mason (Jackie’s & Ginger’s real-life lovechild) & Ian Wehrle (as Jackie Mason).
With a hilarious cast of characters, the play addresses both sides of Jackie & Ginger’s famous 10-year whirlwind romance that began in Miami Beach circa 1977. Sixteen original songs, including “Ode to The Early Bird Special”, I Never Met this Yenta” and “The Finger”, highlight the romantic misadventures of Jackie Mason as his Broadway career soared and Sheba is born.
