Janice’s story, a first-hand account of her experience inside the Black Summer bushfires in the Alpine region of Victoria, is gripping and terrifying at the same time. She takes us through the flames with her heroic husband and sons as they battle to save their home, that farm, their animals and support their neighbours and the wider community at the same time. She also discusses the aftermath, the recovery period which still continues for many people as nobody processes trauma at the same pace.

Biography

I am an active volunteer supporting bushfire recovery of our community, as chair of the Walwa Recovery Committee and have recently self-published two books: one directly relating our experience of the Black Summer Bushfires, "From The Inside" and the last one is "White Lies" a mystery novel, based on a true story, set in the wake of the 1939, Black Friday Fires. A recurring theme with my first outing into being an author!
