Join me, Jason LaChance host of the Knockin' Doorz Down podcast, certified addiction recovery coach, and mental health advocate for my sit down with special guest the awesome Brian Whisenant. Brian is a trained actor and filmmaker who recently brought the stage play Wrath Mercy to the big screen and is working in the addiction recovery field.

I talked with Brian about the depths of his addiction, and how various traumas including his complicated relationship with his parents and being ostracized for his sexual orientation. Brian struggled greatly with his addiction to the point of homelessness. He struggled to be himself with his family and find faith in a higher power. Through rehab, heartache, and personal growth, Brian has found love for himself and finally finished a 20-year journey of translating the stage play Wrath Mercy, which had a huge personal impact on him into a film.

Brian wrote and directed Wrath Mercy, and stars in her return to acting, the awesome Natanya Ross and Matthew Zimmerman.

We finish our conversation with fun random questions and Josh finishes with final thoughts. This is Brian Whisenant Knockin’ Doorz Down.
