#012 Jack started his career in 2007 with a large petrochemical company doing multi-skilled Engineering, later he streamlined into the Electrical and the Instrumentation field in England.

A few years down the line, he met his wife and they both had a passion to travel, so decided to give it a go! After about 8/9 months of backpacking they found themselves on Australian shores ready to start work again.

It was during Jack’s time in Australia I met him whilst working in the power generation industry. Jack is a introverted guy and one thing I’m asked often is do I need to be a charismatic extrovert to be a good leader? My answer is always absolutely NOT! Jack and I chat about how as a introverted guy he has succeeded in stepping up to lead.

Jack headed back to the UK just over 12 months and since then he has been working as an Instrumentation and Electrical team leader for a multi-national chemical manufacturing company. During his career he has been part of and led many diverse and multicultural teams within different industries. He also recently became a first time dad and 'influencer' to his amazing little daughter!

It was great to catch up with Jack, I hope you enjoy listening to Jack’s story of going from technical hero to stepping up to lead!

Listen in to go from surviving to thriving.
