The reason why resolutions and goals and new habits fail has nothing to do with January. Let’s just clear that one up - it has nothing to do with the new year. January happens to be the time that people tend to commit to new goals. And whether you commit to these in January or in September my guess is that the averages of success towards those goals will be similar.
The reason why resolutions and goals and habits fail also has nothing to do with your intent and your commitment to it. I know from working with lots of clients on this that they want to achieve those goals and they’re committed and ready for them.
The reason resolutions, goals, and habits fail also has nothing to do with understanding why you want to commit to them. My guess is that you are probably very clear on WHY you goal is important to you.
So why do goals, resolutions and habits fail?
In this episode I will discuss:
- The cause of why our goals fail or why we aren't consistent with them
- What you need to plan in advance before taking action on any goal
- The 3 questions I ask myself whenever I feel frustrated or anxious or fearful about my goal
