Professional sport and its challenges
To kick start off season 4 we had the pleasure to talk to Sean O’Shea, Director of Football and Cognita Schools Middle East.
Sean shares with us that life as a professional football coach isn't an easy role to fill, but his passion and desire to make it to the top gives Sean the drive to get up every day to lace his football boots and grab his whistle.
In this episode, Sean recalls his own challenging story of falling short of becoming a professional footballer, and identifies the challenges young boys and girls face in today's society with ‘not making it’.
With wellness and mental health as the focal point, Sean provides us with a clear understanding of how the care of the athletes is at the forefront of the coach's objective; something that maybe wasn't so prevalent when he took to the field for Huddersfield in the 1990s.
For anyone who has an interest in sports or anyone whose children would like to make it professionally, this episode is not to be missed.
