Typically, people don't think twice about spending money on all sorts of self-indulgences, but find it hard to actually make an investment into their career development that will pay dividends for the long term. Many stay stuck in jobs they hate, while avoiding solutions that will help them get out of the work contexts that drain the life out of them.
