The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. (29) He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. (30) Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; (31) but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (イザヤ 40:28-31 JCB)まだわからないのですか。全世界を造った永遠の神は、決して疲れたり、衰弱したりしません。神の知恵の深さを推し測ることができる者は、一人もいません。(29)神は疲れた者に力を、弱い者に活力を与えます。(30)若者も疲れ果て、若い男も限界に達します。(31)しかし、主を待ち望む者は新しい力がみなぎり、わしのように翼を張って舞い上がることができます。どれだけ走っても疲れず、どんなに歩いても息切れしません。 1.Jesus is strong! イエスは強い！ a.In the storm 嵐の中でも (Mark 4:35-41 NIV) That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” (36) Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. (37) A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. (38) Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” (39) He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (40) He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (41) They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” (マルコ 4:35-41 JCB)夕闇の迫るころ、イエスは弟子たちに、「さあ、湖の向こう岸に渡ろう」と言われました。(36)弟子たちは群衆をあとに残し、イエスの乗られた小舟をこぎ出しました。あとからついて来る舟も、何そうかありました。(37)ところが、まもなく恐ろしい嵐が襲って来たのです。小舟は大波にほんろうされ、舟は水浸しです。(38)イエスを見ると、船尾のほうで眠っておられます。弟子たちは気が気ではありません。すっかり動転して、イエスを呼び起こしました。「先生！ 舟が沈みかけているのに、よく平気でいられますね！」(39)イエスはゆっくり起き上がると、風をしかり、湖に「静まれ」と言われました。するとどうでしょう。たちまち風はやみ、湖は何事もなかったかのような大なぎになりました。(40)イエスは弟子たちに言われました。「どうしてそんなにこわがるのですか。まだわたしが信じられないのですか。」(41)弟子たちは、ただもう恐怖に打ちのめされて、「ああ、なんというお方だ。風や湖までが従うとは」と、ささやき合いました。 b.In the raging mob 暴徒化する群衆の中でも (Luke 4:28-30 NIV) All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. (29) They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. (30) But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way. (マタイ 26:52-53 ALIVE訳) 「剣をしまえ！剣を抜く者は剣に死す！―― 【剣で人を傷つけるのなら、その罪により、自分が罪に定められ、殺されることを意味している】 (53)俺が父さん神に求めれば、何万という天使軍をよこすことくらいわかるだろう！ 3.The Lord is my strength 神様は私の力 (Psalm 28:7 NIV) The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. (詩篇 28:7 JCB) 主は私の力、あらゆる危険から身を守る盾です。私の信頼に答えて、神は助けてくださいました。心にわき上がる喜びは、賛美の歌となってあふれます。 (Acts 1:8 NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
