This week, we begin our study of Ralph Waldo Emerson, our next mystic. Rev. Roger Butts has been reading Emerson for decades, and Emerson is truly one of his favorites. In 1838, Harvard Divinity School asked Emerson, an alumnus, to come and speak to the graduating class, who would go off and become ministers, mostly Congregational or Unitarian.
