These words are seated both in experience, and also in faith. Our experience tells us that, while certain afflictions may not change, our ability to cope with them will. We know that change is inevitable and provides the foundation for growth. Our faith allows us to use these words as a reminder that the sun will shine, we will rise into a new understanding, and peace will come. While we may not know how soon all of this will occur, we have faith it will because we have found the spiritual strength to overcome other challenges in the past. This last Sunday, we will asked ourselves "if this too shall pass," who are we becoming? As we face the many challenges of life in the 21st century, what vision do we hold for the future? Can we inhale and be inspired as we affirm our spiritual strength to overcome?
