When translating words from one language to another, sometimes you can get very close but struggle with an exact match. This is the case for the words happiness and shiawase.

In this week’s episode, Yakko & Cheechan dig into the different nuances of these words and how they would and wouldn’t apply them in both Japanese and English. They also unpack similar words such as joy, ureshii, gratitude, and more to make things even more complicated.

Be sure to tune in for an intriguing conversation on translating happiness!
